Stems & Leaves Water Play

Watch what they watch. The girls were all ooohhhs and ahhhs at Trader Joes over some gorgeous hydrangeas we picked up. I let them touch and see and we trimmed them to put them in a vase on the entry table. 

I had a good amount of stems and leaves left over and decided to throw them in a bin for water play. Grabbed some of our Dollar Tree utensils: strainers, ladles, and muffin tins, and let the girls go at it! 

My favorite part about using natural materials is that the girls see these things each day and will hopefully learn to see the magic in incorporating these everyday materials into play. I want their environment to speak to them and invite them to explore.
