1. These Guidecraft Mirror Blocks are a favorite at the girls’ school. I love that they will grow with these and can use them with the rainbow blocks, listed in our 18-24 month gift guide.

2. This is the third time Oli and Carol has ended up in our gift guide! I’m obsessed with the quality of their toys and the fact that there is no pesky hole for nasty bacteria to grow after hours of bath time! This origami boat is adorable and comes in a few other colors.

3. When the girls get going on this Ramp Racer, it can hold their attention for close to 10 minutes! It’s mesmerizing to watch the cars ping back and forth down the ramp.

4. The girls got into imaginative play around this time and I quickly incorporated some RePlay dishes, utensils and this beautifully painted Melissa & Doug food. It’s so fun to watch them try and identify the food and even pretend to serve and eat it!

5. Interest in animals drastically increased around this age, as the girls could name and make the sound of many animals! These Melissa & Doug Animal Magnets have helped make it through dinner preparation and they’ve even learned to match them with their Beanie Babies (don’t lie, you probably still have them, too!)

6. There are not many sensory play times that we don’t use our Grimm’s Wooden Nesting Bowls to scoop and pour! They’re beautifully made and incredibly durable! Using them is a sensory experience in itself!

7. We sing lots of color songs over here, and the girls have been working to visually discriminate colors. These beautiful Grimm’s wooden peg dolls fit into corresponding bowls. So many opportunities for play with these sweet things!

8. While the age for this activity might say suitable for kids 3 and older, I found that this toy has stayed in our rotation the longest. With some help to hold the food at first, the girls mastered cutting and now can hold it by themselves. It’s truly a favorite! They offer Cutting Food and Cutting Fruit sets.

9. This Hape Color and Shape Wooden Block Sorter is such a fun puzzle. The girls quickly mastered the circles and squares but are still working on twisting the triangles. You can sort by color, size, etc.

10. More Melissa & Doug puzzles suitable for this age. Your little one will love the familiar animals and how it builds upon the simple puzzles listed for our 6-12 month babes!

11. These Honeysticks Crayons were great to start the girls off with. Nontoxic and made out of beeswax, they are beautiful and have such rich color.

12. We love taking this Color Sticker Book everywhere with us when we need a quiet activity. The girls love that it’s sorted by color and has so many recognizable things!

13. The girls turned into little Mamas as we approached 18 months. They have loved their Cuddle & Kind Dolls and will frequently cover them with blankets and pat them to sleep.

14. Looking for some tools to use with your Play-Doh? These tools are well-made and will be ready for all your Play-Doh adventures!

15. The girls started using this Pewi Y-Bike once they were right on the verge of walking. It swerves a little much for it to be a training walker. They love using it at 19 months and can now ride it like a bike. It’s a blast to take when we go on outdoor walks and keeps them a little more focused on pushing on the sidewalk instead of running around.
