We had the BEST time celebrating the girls with so many of our closest friends. Our little house was packed! These people have encouraged us through pregnancy and this first year and we are forever grateful.

In thinking of their first birthday party, I wanted simple, fresh, delicate, a little whimsy and a little romantic. Since it is Spring, I'm crushing over all of the beautiful flowers, so I tried to pick an overall neutral palette with lots of greens, and subtle pops of color. I used this tutorial on Apartment Therapy to make garlands for ALL the places with my little sister the night before. The greenery held up really well! The greenery was super cheap at HEB and the rest of the flowers were from an after-bedtime trip to Central Market with my friend Amber.

Here is our playlist I created on Spotify. Think "soundtrack to your best day ever!"

I love me some easy-but-looks-difficult treats and Rachel Schultz's blog has lots of them! I made the apple and brie pastries, the strawberry crescent roll braid, and spinach and feta mini pastries. We enjoyed a charcuterie board, fruit tower, Central Market cookies, rosemary cashews, and a homemade apple pie from my Grandma.

Our cakes were made by a local baker, Janelle over at Sweets 4 the Sweet. The large one was a vanilla cake with raspberry filling. The smaller one was just a chocolate with vanilla icing. So delicious! The smash cakes were made by my incredible mother-in-law. The birthday candles are beeswax candles from Worthwrite Goods, a friend of a friend's shop!

The girls' outfits and shoes are from GAP in the Toddler section because apparently THAT starts at twelve months. Their bows are from CIALAco.

One of our favorite parts of the party was getting out a Magnum bottle of wine we got at our favorite winery, Tulip Winery, in Israel almost 3 years ago. There were only 200 bottles made and we kept saving it for a special occasion. We were able to pour all of our friends and family a taste and enjoy it together as we toasted to the last year.

Thank you to Kati Hewitt Photography, who continues to capture our babes so perfectly. We are still soaking in this day, this year. Ever grateful to be Mama to these girls. I can't imagine anything else.
