Eggshells

We’ve been saving our eggshells for the last month because I knew I wanted to do something with them in the weeks leading up to Easter. Nothing fancy in saving them - crack, rinse, wash in warm, soapy water, let air dry, throw in a bag.

We go through quite a few eggs, but it also helped that I made breakfast tacos for the girls’ preschool class for International Day!

The washing and the rinsing and saving was worth the twenty giggle-filled minutes they stayed engaged in this activity. Permission to destroy something, GREEN LIGHT!

I emptied the eggshells onto one side of our Crate and Kids Sand and Water Table, which we basically use for everything except sand and water, and threw in a few wooden hammers and some of our basic sensory tools. You can find some of our favorites HERE!

Not only did we destroy the eggshells, the girls kept calling it “egg glitter,” so I knew we had to keep pivoting to use this in a process art project. See details on that HERE! Make sure that your babes wear gloves if they want to get in and crush with their hands because those shells can be sharp!
